After more than a decade working across advertising, branded content and production, our Founder Jo has collaborated with some of Australia’s leading brands and agencies. As the industry shifted from traditional commercial campaigns to the constant demands of social media content, she noticed a growing problem: founders were being expected to become full-time content creators while also running their businesses.
At the same time, audiences were moving away from overly polished advertising and connecting more with authentic, social-first storytelling.
Short&Social was created to bridge that gap — supporting founders and brands navigating a new era of content creation, visibility and online engagement.Today, we combine production, strategy and social media management to help brands create engaging online content without everything relying on the business owner to manage it alone.

JO AUSTIN
Jo specialises in creating audience-first content that balances strategy, storytelling and authenticity. Across advertising, branded content and factual television, she has produced campaigns for major brands while developing a deep understanding of how to connect with audiences in ways that feel natural rather than overly produced.
Her background in documentary storytelling has also shaped her ability to work closely with founders and business owners who may not feel naturally confident on camera — creating an environment where people feel comfortable enough to communicate genuinely and connect more effectively with their audience.
Today, Jo works collaboratively with brands to build long-term content systems that are strategically aligned, creatively adaptable and designed for the realities of modern social media.
